Account Executive - US East Coast

About StrangeBee 🐝

StrangeBee started in 2018 with a simple idea from the creators of TheHive and Cortex: give security teams open tools that actually help them respond to incidents. Today, TheHive is used by thousands of security analysts in 43 countries. We’re a team of 90 people across Paris, Barcelona, the US, and we’re growing the hive. Want to contribute?

How we work

• Customer Centric: we build for real security teams facing real threats.

• Quest for Excellence: “good enough” isn’t our standard.

• Embrace Change: cyber moves fast, and so do we. If something could be better, say it.

• One Team: trust, open communication and psychological safety, across titles and teams.

We’re looking for our first Account Executive in the US to win new customers and build our local partner ecosystem. As our first hire on the ground, you’ll work hand in hand with our VP Sales to open the US market and shape how we sell there. The US is already one of our top 3 markets, and our customers want a partner who is close to them: this role is how we get there.

The essentials

• Location: Contract: Full-time. You’ll start through our Employer of Record (Deel), then move to StrangeBee’s US entity once it opens.

• Contract: Full-time

• Reports to: VP Sales

• Salary: 110 – 130 base/year : OTE, 50% fixed / 50% variable

What you’ll do

• Win new logos across the US through outbound, inbound, partners and events

• Build and grow relationships with local partners and resellers to develop indirect sales

• Own your pipeline end to end: keep HubSpot/Salesforce accurate and your accounts well documented

• Run deals from first call to signature, including legal (with our US legal counsel) and security reviews, alongside our Solutions Engineers, Infrastructure & Security and Sales Ops teams

• Deliver accurate forecasts and stand by your commitments

• Help shape our US sales playbook as the territory grows

What success looks like

• First 3 months: you’re fully autonomous within 45–60 days, you know our product, our customers and the teams that support you, and your outbound engine is running

• By 6 months: First tangible result, qualified opportunities, first deals closed, with a well-documented pipeline the whole team can trust

• By 12 months: Recurring US revenue base, first partners actively selling TheHive, a repeatable sales process

What you bring

• 4+ years of B2B software sales experience with a software vendor, or more in partner/channel sales

• You’ve owned a pipeline from start to finish and kept your CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce) clean and up to date

• You’ve been a first or early sales hire in a new market and built an enterprise sales process from scratch

• You have a strong network in the US tech or security industry

• You get to the real pain behind a deal: you ask the right questions and know whether a customer truly needs to buy

• You’re straight-talking, autonomous and committed, and you ask for help early instead of waiting

• You can explain why a deal didn’t work and what you changed afterwards

• Native or near-native English, and you’re comfortable working daily with non-native speakers (our team is mostly French and Spanish)

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity, or in IT/software with a strong security component

• Experience in channel or reselling of cybersecurity products

• Knowledge of the Sandler methodology

Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. This list is a guide, not a checklist. We care more about how you think and learn than about a perfect match. No specific degree or school required.

What we offer

• Full US benefits package: medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and US holidays

• Remote work

• Equipment: laptop and setup provided

• A buddy on day one: an experienced Account Executive from our Spain team to help you ramp up

• A front-row seat: you’ll be part of opening StrangeBee’s US entity

Our hiring process

We keep it transparent and respectful of your time: 4 steps over about [X] weeks, and an answer at every stage, even if it’s a no.

• Discovery call with Talent Acquisition (20 min)

• Interview with our VP Sales (45 min)

• Interview culture with our AE based in Spain (30min

• Final fit interview with a pannel (1 hour)

We may run a reference check before making an offer.

At StrangeBee, we hire for skills and potential. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. If you need any adjustment during the process, just let us know.
