Accounting Officer

Context & Impact

We're hiring a Junior Accountant to replace an outgoing team member in a role that keeps Lansweeper's financial engine running smoothly. As we scale fast across markets, accurate and timely accounting operations aren't just a back-office function — they're the foundation everything else is built on. You'll own the day-to-day accounting operations across accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and compliance, and play a key role in keeping our books accurate and audit-ready. If you're a detail-oriented starter who wants to grow in a dynamic, international SaaS scale-up, this is your opportunity.

Challenge

The main challenges you'll face are:

• Keeping pace with a fast-scaling business. Lansweeper is growing quickly, which means transaction volumes, entities, and complexity are increasing. You'll need to stay accurate and structured in an environment that doesn't stand still.

• Working in a maturing finance function. Some processes are still being built and improved. You'll need to be proactive, flag gaps when you spot them, and contribute to making workflows more efficient — not just follow instructions.

• Balancing accuracy with speed. Month-end deadlines, VAT filings, and audit preparation all run in parallel. Managing your own workload and meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously will be key to succeeding in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process and verify supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims accurately and on time

• Follow up on outstanding customer invoices and support the collections process

• Reconcile AP/AR ledgers and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

General Ledger & Month-End

• Post journal entries and assist with monthly closing activities

• Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded

• Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports

Administration & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and well-financial records and filing

• Support VAT declarations, statutory filings and audit preparation

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth financial operations

Key Requirements

Hard Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or first job welcome)

• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping

• Proficient in Excel; experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP or Exact is a plus

• Fluent in English; Dutch or another European language is an asset

• Based in Belgium, with the ability to work hybrid from our Ghent office (2–3 days per week in office required)

Nice to have — Going for gold?

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP

• Exposure to a SaaS or tech company environment

• Knowledge of Belgian VAT legislation

• Interest in process improvement and automation

Soft Skills

• Accurate and structured — you take pride in getting the details right, every time

• Deadline-driven — you manage your own workload proactively and flag issues early

• Collaborative — you work well with internal teams and external partners and communicate clearly when something needs resolving

AI-Specific Skills

Lansweeper is an AI-native company. In this role, AI fluency means staying curious and proactive — you don't wait to be told. You explore AI tools that can make your accounting workflows faster and more accurate, whether that's using Copilot in Excel to speed up reconciliations, leveraging AI features in NetSuite, or experimenting with tools that automate recurring tasks. When you find something that works, you share it with your team. You're comfortable adopting new tools as they are introduced and you see AI as a natural part of how modern accounting gets done.

Pay Transparency

At Lansweeper, every role is assigned to a level defined by three things: the expertise it requires, the complexity it involves, and the scope of impact it carries.
Each level maps to a salary band based on salary benchmarks from the Software/SaaS industry of your country, so your pay reflects what the market pays for comparable roles.
The gross salary range for this role is €35,000 – €57,200 (Belgium) (based on full-time employment).
Where you land within that range depends on the expertise you bring, the complexity you have navigated, the scope of impact you have owned, and your track record of delivering results in comparable roles — the same criteria applied consistently to every candidate.
We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, regardless of gender, religion, ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation, or disability.
