As an AI and Data Engineering Intern within Valmont’s Agriculture Division Software Engineering Department, you’ll play an important role in advancing data-driven decision-making and irrigation optimization. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with cloud-based data systems, developing predictive models, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver impactful data insights.
Valmont’s internship program provides a hands-on learning experience through project work, leadership development, job shadowing, and interaction with senior leaders across the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Extract, clean, and preprocess data from Azure-based databases
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities
- Engineer features for predictive modeling and decision-making
- Develop and evaluate machine learning models to support irrigation optimization
- Document methodologies, findings, and present insights to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data solutions
- Identify data quality issues and propose process improvements
