This is not a one-time bonus or a vague promise of growth opportunity. It is a defined track: you build skills, we raise your rate. Most operators cannot say that.
About the Role
We are hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet within Guardian Flight. This technician will be qualified to support our King Air C90, B200, and B300, Pilatus PC-12, and Learjet 45 aircraft airframe. This is a key role to ensure our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care, and customer service to patients. Every aircraft you sign off carries a patient and a crew, and that is exactly the kind of accountability our best technicians are looking for.
Coming out of the military, off a different platform, or newly certificated? Read on. We hire turbine maintainers from every background and provide the type-specific and air medical training you need to succeed here.
What You’ll Work On
Hands-on maintenance with real technical depth, not paperwork from a desk:
- Avionics and modification work - Garmin G600TXi and G1000 upgrades, autopilot systems, electrical troubleshooting, and STC installations. Avionics is the fastest-growing skill in aviation maintenance, and you will build it here.
- Scheduled inspections including phase, HUIP, and landing gear inspections
- Engine changes, hot section inspections, and propeller and accessory replacement
- Airframe, powerplant, and systems troubleshooting and repair
- Medical interior systems, stretcher and mounting hardware, and associated STC compliance
- Unscheduled maintenance and AOG recovery to return aircraft to service quickly
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and return-to-service actions in accordance with manufacturer data, company manuals, and Federal Aviation Regulations, and provide regular status to the Lead Technician.
- Document all maintenance actions and required FAA records clearly, accurately, and on time, adhering to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards.
- Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary, and document part expenditures.
- Keep leadership informed on aircraft status, discrepancies, and projected return-to-service dates.
- Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between operations, flight crews, supply chain, departments, vendors, and team members.
- Take pride in sustaining a safe, clean and organized hangar and shop environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.
- Speak up. We operate under a Just Culture - reporting concerns and improving process is part of the job.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of turbine-powered aircraft maintenance experience - military or civilian. Turboprop, turbofan, transport-category, and rotor-wing turbine experience all qualify.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate, or documented eligibility with a scheduled test date prior to your start.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid State issued Driver’s license and driving record compliant with company policy
- Federal Aviation Regulations knowledge
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotations.
- Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
Military Experience Counts Here
We actively recruit transitioning and veteran maintainers, and we recognize military maintenance experience as directly qualifying. If you served in any of the following, you are encouraged to apply:
- U.S. Coast Guard - AMT, AET
- U.S. Navy - AD, AM, AE, AT, AZ
- U.S. Air Force / Space Force - 2A5X, 2A6X, 2A3X, 2A7X
- U.S. Marine Corps - 6000-series aviation maintenance
- U.S. Army - 15B, 15N, 15T, 15U, 15Y
We support DoD SkillBridge and Career Skills Program participation, and we will work with you on A&P certification timing, testing, and the transition from military maintenance documentation to FAA record-keeping. If you are still on active duty and within your transition window, reach out early - we would rather start the conversation months ahead than miss you.
Platform Experience - Broader Than You Think
Our fleet includes King Air C90, B200, and B300, Pilatus PC-12, and Learjet 45 aircraft. You do not need time on those specific airframes to be a strong candidate. Comparable turbine experience transfers well, including:
- C-130, C-12 / UC-12, UC-35, C-146, King Air and other military turboprops
- H-60, HH-65, MH-65, UH-72, and other turbine rotor-wing platforms
- Regional and corporate aircraft such as CRJ, ERJ, Citation, Beech jet, and Hawker
- Type-specific and manufacturer training is provided. We would rather hire the right technician and train in the airframe.
Newly Certificated or Changing Careers?
If you recently earned your A&P or are coming from another skilled trade, talk to us. Guardian Flight maintains an Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprentice track that pairs you with experienced technicians and builds you toward full AMT status on a defined timeline. We would rather develop the right person than wait for a perfect resume.
