Job Description
As a senior animation-ready systems creator (Senior Rigger) at Ubisoft Montreal, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality character rigs in 3DS Max and their integration into our game engine. You will support the AAA animation pipeline and develop systems suited to a character-driven game.
What you will do:
- Create user-friendly character rigs in 3DS Max;
- Develop efficient meshing, deformation and control systems;
- Ensure reliable export and integration into the game engine;
- Support and improve animation pipelines and workflows;
- Solve problems related to rigs, deformation and engine integration;
- Optimize rigs for real-time performance;
- Collaborate with the animation, art direction and programming teams;
- Contribute to tools and pipeline best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience as a rig creator in the video game industry;
- Mastery of rig creation pipelines in 3DS Max;
- Good understanding of deformation, meshing and control systems;
- Experience in Python scripting for rig pipelines;
- Experience on AAA game productions;
- Understanding of the constraints of real-time performance and game engines;
- Strong problem-solving skills and good knowledge of production pipelines;
- Experience in facial rigging with joint-based, blendshape-based or hybrid approaches.
