Application software engineer - Electric Drive Systems

We are looking for an experienced application software engineer to join our client’s electric drive system team. The team develops both application software and basic software in house. The software is fairly mature, but there is room for improvement, and that is where you come in.

You will work on an efficiency upgrade project for the motor drive system. The focus is on PWM modulation techniques and switching strategies, reducing losses in the power electronics and the motor, and taking the improvements all the way to industrialization.

What you will do

• Develop and improve application software for the motor drive system using model based development in Simulink and TargetLink

• Work closely with the basic software developers in the team

• Analyse and optimise PWM modulation and switching strategies to reduce losses

• Improve existing control functions and make them robust and production ready

• Verify and validate software in test rigs, including logging and analysing data

• Share knowledge and support colleagues in the team

Who you are

• Background in mechatronics, electrical engineering or a similar field

• Around 6 to 8 years of experience in automotive software development.

• Solid experience with model based development, ideally Simulink and TargetLink

• Good understanding of electric drive systems, power electronics and how motor control functions work

• Knowledge of PWM modulation techniques and switching losses

• Familiar with the full software development process, including V&V

• Experience with rig testing and data logging

• Hands on and self driven, you enjoy solving problems through testing and iteration

• A team player with a coaching mindset

Please note before applying

You need to be in Sweden and hold a valid work-permit to work in Sweden.

We read every application carefully, so it helps us a lot if yours clearly shows your hands on experience with motor control software, PWM strategies and rig testing. In your application, tell us briefly about a motor drive function you’ve developed or improved and how you tested it. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to take applications further if they don’t show this experience.
