The Opportunity

Our client, a software and professional services company, is looking for a skilled Application Support Analyst to join their team. If you’re passionate about delivering top-notch technical support and driving continuous improvement across complex application environments, this role is for you.

About the Role

You’ll support both customers and internal team members across the full stack of the company’s solutions, from server hardware and hypervisors through to operating systems, supporting applications, in-house software and third-party products. You’ll work to customer SLAs, run proactive health checks, and use Tableau to turn data into clear, useful reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Incident Management: Manage support tickets and keep to SLA targets, including back-to-back tickets with third-party vendors and post-incident reviews.

• Problem Management: Find the root cause of repeated and persistent issues, implement fixes (updates, configuration changes, scripts), and document workarounds.

• Change Management: Own the change management procedure and register, write MOPs and requests for change, and deploy changes to internal and customer systems.

• Release Management & Testing: Lead testing of new software releases, both in-house and third-party, and maintain test environments.

• Health Checks & System Tuning: Go beyond checking processes and logs to assess real system performance, and automate health check and analysis activities.

• Observability & Performance Management: Tune event processing (correlation and enrichment), put unused functionality to work, and apply best practice.

• Reporting: Rationalise report sets, and build reports that show customer impact and support near real-time operational management, using Tableau.

• Knowledge Management: Write, peer review and maintain knowledge base articles for customers and colleagues.

• Solution Deployment: Deploy software for customer systems, remotely and on-premises.

• Training: Train customer personnel in troubleshooting and administration of the company’s solutions.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements, share knowledge with the team, and help shape company-wide technical methodologies.
