Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance

As our Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you are the operational powerhouse of the entire department. While the Pub and Grill is a massive part of your domain, you operate with total flexibility across all Food and Beverage areas, playing a huge role in our busy Meeting and Events spaces. You will step up as a Duty Manager, own the shift across multiple outlets, champion our local marketing, and act as the vital bridge between the Manager's strategy and the team's execution on the floor.

Why Village?

At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating great experiences for our guests and each other. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers. Previous experience in high volume F&B is essential, but your attitude and energy matter just as much to us. If you are friendly, positive, love leading a busy, multi-faceted team, and have real commercial grit, we will give you the autonomy to thrive. Because it really does take a Village.

How the Village Thrives

We live our culture through three simple commitments:

• We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work everyday, with purpose.

• We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.

• We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.

Your Shift: What You Will Actually Be Doing

As our Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you are the engine of the shift. We trust you to handle:

• The Operational Lead: Running the floor as a Duty Manager. You will own the shift across all F&B areas, seamlessly moving between a bustling Pub and Grill service and high volume Meeting and Events. You will lead high energy pre-shift briefings and translate commercial strategy into action.

• The Commercial Control: Protecting the bottom line. You will monitor wage costs using tools like TnA, keep stock replenished to exact par levels, safely authorise voids and refunds, and know exactly which products drive the highest Gross Profit to support our EBITDA targets.

• The Local Buzz: Acting as our social media champion and driving our outreach plan. You will create online noise to support our events and push the team to deliver the kind of service that secures a top 10 spot on TripAdvisor.

• The People Development: Coaching the team in real time. You will assist in recruiting high performers, foster a culture of serious product knowledge across both pub menus and event banqueting, and review performance to ensure internal development is a constant priority.

How We Succeed Together

We do not micromanage. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to handle your areas and make decisions on the fly. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide funded qualifications and internal moves. We constantly Innovate & Progress so we can Inspire Excellence and smash our targets together.
