About United Contractor Services
United Contractor Services, LLC is a national specialty subcontractor ranked among the Top 50 Walls and Ceilings contractors in North America. We self-perform commercial interior construction, including metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, stucco, painting, and Division 8 and 10 specialties, for leading general contractors across the country. Our crews and project teams are known for clean installs, reliable schedules, and doing the job right the first time.
The Role
We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager with at least two years of commercial construction experience who wants to grow into a full Project Manager with a subcontractor that builds from within. You'll work alongside senior PMs and superintendents on active drywall and framing projects, handling the documentation, coordination, and financial tracking that keep jobs profitable and on schedule. You won't spend your days making copies. You'll own real pieces of real projects from buyout through closeout.
What You'll Handle
- Project Documentation and Controls
- Prepare, submit, and track submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings with the GC and design team
- Draft and log change orders, and track approved and pending changes against the contract
- Help build schedules of values and prepare monthly pay applications
- Maintain contracts, purchase orders, and project records in Procore or similar platforms
- Field and GC Coordination
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for general contractors, superintendents, and suppliers
- Coordinate material deliveries, manpower needs, and sequencing with field leadership
- Walk jobsites to track progress, verify quantities, and flag conflicts early
- Attend OAC and coordination meetings and follow through on action items
- Cost and Schedule Tracking
- Monitor job costs, labor hours, and material usage against the budget
- Support buyout of materials and subcontracted scopes
- Update look-ahead schedules and report progress to the PM
- Quality and Closeout
- Review plans and specs to confirm installs match the contract documents
- Support punch list completion, O&M manuals, warranties, and closeout packages
What You Need
- 2+ years of commercial construction experience in an APM, project coordinator, project engineer, or field role (subcontractor experience strongly preferred)
