Associate Embedded Software Engineer
The Company
AnySignal is developing the next generation of RF products and services for some of the most demanding space and defense missions. We’re building a flexible, high-performance platform that’s easy to deploy, monitor, and scale, enabling customers to bring advanced radio technologies to life faster than ever before.
The Role
As an Associate Embedded Software Engineer on AnySignal's Space Software team, you'll develop mission-critical embedded software for advanced radio systems supporting space and defense applications. You'll gain hands-on experience across the embedded software stack, from low-level RF integrated circuit drivers and high-speed FPGA interfaces to embedded Linux, networking, and fault-tolerant software architecture.
You'll work alongside experienced software, hardware, and FPGA engineers to solve real engineering challenges, contribute to reliable communications and sensing capabilities, and take on increasing technical ownership as you grow. Your work will directly support products operating in demanding environments where reliability and performance are essential.
Responsibilities
- Own the development of mission-critical embedded C++ running on Linux-based embedded systems.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, DSP, and FPGA engineers to define the system requirements, interfaces, and architecture.
- Participate in hardware bring-up, schematic reviews, and hands-on debugging of embedded radio platforms.
- Build automated hardware-in-the-loop tests to validate system performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across embedded hardware and software systems.
- Work directly with our customers to integrate our products into their flight systems, debug RF links, and ensure mission success.
Required Skills
- Working knowledge of C++ or C programming.
- Understanding of embedded systems through at least 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent internship, coursework, or hands-on project experience.
- Experience developing software on Linux platforms or microcontrollers.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of technical challenges.
- Passion for understanding the hardware that your software talks to.
Desired Skills
- Experience with network programming, including TCP/IP, UDP, and socket programming.
- Understanding of digital signal processing, modem design, and RF communications concepts.
- Experience with board bring-up, schematic review, and troubleshooting hardware.
