A Day in the Life
The Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) business develops technologies that support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias through advanced mapping, navigation, and ablation therapies. The Associate Affera Mapping Specialist Programme is a structured 12-month development pathway designed to build clinical, technical, and customer-facing expertise in electrophysiology procedures and Affera mapping technology.
This is a field-based role covering the midlands region of the United Kingdom, requiring regular travel to customer hospitals, electrophysiology laboratories, training locations, and business meetings. Travel throughout the region, including occasional overnight stays and attendance at national or international training programs, is required.
The Associate Affera Mapping Specialist Programme provides early-career professionals with a structured learning experience combining clinical education, field-based training, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to electrophysiology procedures. Participants will develop the clinical and technical capabilities required to independently support customers using Medtronic's cardiac mapping technologies and transition into a Technical Consultant role upon successful completion of the programme.

- Participate in a structured 12-month training programme focused on cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac mapping technologies, and clinical procedure support.
- Observe and support electrophysiology procedures within hospital catheterization laboratories under the guidance of experienced Technical Consultants and mentors.
- Complete product, clinical, compliance, and professional development training through instructor-led and virtual learning programmes.
- Develop knowledge of Affera mapping technology, cardiac ablation procedures, and electrophysiology workflows.
- Complete individual and team-based assignments, assessments, and development milestones within programme timelines.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals, including physicians, cardiac physiologists, and nursing teams.
- Provide clinical and technical support during electrophysiology procedures following successful completion of training requirements.
- Deliver product and procedural education to healthcare professionals and support customer needs within an assigned territory following programme completion.
