We are looking for someone who:

• Understands and can anticipate the complexities of distributed asynchronous systems.
• Would not need instruction on how to set up or work with modern tech. This means everything from testing, localization, tooling, CI pipelines and so on. These are just “the way you work”
• Thrives in an environment of freedom to take ownership and make the choices required to deliver the highest value at the lowest cost and risk to our users.
• Values an iterative approach to solving a problem, validating the value and moving forwards.
• Is an engineer not bound by labels. We are looking for people with a good foundation of programming practices that can work on front end, dev ops, back end or native app problems to name a few examples. They would not be expected to be a “guru” at something right off the bat, but they would be expected to not fear diving into something new. Our Tech Stack is based on TypeScript, ReactJS, nodeJS, PHP, AWS and Flutte but this position will mostly working with React JS and node JS.
• Is a critical thinker who will design solutions that represent the business domain.
• Is stakeholder centric when trying to solve problems for them. This would mean wanting to truly understand the business domain and get as much information as possible from stakeholders before implementation of a solution.
• Is an exceptional communicator. They will need to have a fluent grasp of English and German would be a plus. This is integral to stakeholder centricity as communication is going to lead to the right solutions.
• Ideally would have a good history of working directly with departments like data analytics so when building software they have them in mind as part of the solution.

The position is initially limited to 18 months. This is in accordance with our internal governance and planning principles, under which we structure employment relationships for a defined period of time initially. If performance is as expected, there is generally the prospect of a long-term continuation of the employment relationship. A possible extension will be discussed well in advance of the end of the fixed-term period.

What we can offer you:

• Flat structures, you will not have the feeling that you have a ‘Boss’
• Transparency is a first class citizen in the company
• Freedom from a JIRA todo list with no deviation. We want to hire people who tell us how to make the right choices and do the right things. We just want to present the problems that need solving.
• We are going to move and scale fast. There is plenty of room for career progression and we intend to hire the best talent we can get. This means you will learn a ton from very talented people.
• Trust, we are looking for people we do not need to manage.
• We don’t measure effort in “time” and we also don’t try to just translate story points to time either.
• We don’t believe in tech debt / bug sprints. Tech debt will always continue to happen, we simply acknowledge pain points and fix them as we go.

No tech is final. We want to use the tech that makes sense for the problem. That could mean a mongodb for one service and dynamo for another. We want you to be able to make that call.

You get to actively shape things from day one, in a growing market, with flat hierarchies and real room to decide. No slow moving structures, just fast paths and an open culture where your ideas count.

This is what you can expect:

• Ownership from day one with a direct line to management
• Flexible working hours and hybrid work
• eGym Wellpass for health and fitness
• Job-Bike
• Fresh fruit, snacks and drinks in our Frankfurt office near the Messe
• Regular team events and a vibrant company culture
