JOB SUMMARY: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Acceptable verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to address the needs of all students.
• The ability to participate in all required bus training and professional development.
• Physical dexterity, coordination, mobility, visual and emotional health to perform the essential functions of the position including the ability to lift students.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass tuberculosis screening prior to start date.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 MONTHS - 187 DAYS

SALARY: BUS DRIVER SALARY SCALE

STARTING DATE: TO BE DETERMINED

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
