Company Description
Pitch Aeronautics () is a rapidly growing startup creating game-changing solutions for the utility industry. Pitch has developed a drone to install our line sensor, bird diverters, and other equipment on power lines. Our drone-deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an intuitive software tool to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. We have numerous pilots with large IOUs throughout the country including the largest dynamic line rating deployment in the nation. We're seeking a motivated business development expert with proven experience to capitalize on this momentum and bring in more business with transmission utilities.
At Pitch we’ve fostered a collaborative, fun, “get-stuff-done” working environment. We believe in moving fast and creatively. If you’re looking for a place where you can make a difference on day one, be empowered to achieve, and love working in growing teams, we want to meet you!

Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a business development professional. While the focus will be on bringing in new business, our size of company demands flexibility with participation in many aspects of the business. Responsibilities will include assistance in managing/growing existing projects with current customers, focusing the sales strategy, working with channel partners, communicating lessons-learned to engineering/development teams, and building relationships with new clients. We expect this person to have a deep knowledge of the utility industry, an understanding of the purchasing process and approval authorities at electric utilities, and be able to bring in existing relationships with power delivery customers.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle new business: prospecting, discovery, business case, pilots/POCs, MSAs/SOWs, and close.
- Convert pilots to production: structure success criteria, quantify value (capacity gains, risk reduction), and drive executive buy-in.
- Navigate utility procurement: RFPs/RFIs, sole-source justifications, standards committees, InfoSec, legal/insurance.
- Build and focus our sales playbook: ICP refinement, messaging, qualification, pricing/packaging feedback.
- Coordinate internally: translate needs to Engineering and Ops; forecast accurately in CRM; contribute to product roadmap signals.
