Business Development Representative, UKI

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to join our UKI Sales Development team at Genesys.

This is an outbound-focused role responsible for identifying, engaging and developing new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland.

You will work closely with Account Executives, Marketing and the wider BDR team to identify target accounts, engage the right people and create qualified pipeline for the UKI sales organisation.

The role requires someone who is comfortable with high-volume outbound prospecting and understands how to use phone, email, LinkedIn and other digital channels to engage prospects.

You should already have experience working in a BDR or similar sales development role and be comfortable managing your own prospecting activity, accounts, cadences and pipeline targets.

What You'll Do

• Prospect into target accounts across the UK and Ireland to identify and create new business opportunities.
• Run high-volume outbound prospecting across phone, email, LinkedIn and other digital channels.
• Use Salesloft to build and manage prospecting cadences, daily activity and follow-up.
• Use Salesforce to manage accounts, contacts, activity and opportunities while maintaining good CRM discipline.
• Research target accounts and identify the right people and personas to engage.
• Use account, intent and engagement data to help prioritise prospecting activity.
• Develop personalised messaging based on the account, persona and potential business challenges.
• Cold call prospects and confidently engage senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Qualify potential opportunities by understanding business challenges, priorities, timing and potential fit for Genesys.
• Work closely with Account Executives to develop account plans and outbound prospecting strategies.
• Partner with Marketing on campaigns, events and account-based engagement activity.
• Follow up with prospects from local events, campaigns and other marketing activity.
• Attend customer, partner and industry events across the UK and Ireland where required.
• Maintain consistent prospecting activity while focusing on the quality of conversations and opportunities created.
• Build and maintain qualified pipeline against individual and team targets.
• Use AI and other sales technology to improve research, personalisation, productivity and prospect engagement.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who already has a good foundation in sales development and is ready to take greater ownership of outbound prospecting and pipeline creation.

You should have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a BDR, SDR or similar sales development role.
• Outbound prospecting experience is highly beneficial.
• Experience working in a high-volume outbound sales environment.
• Confidence cold calling and engaging new prospects.
• Experience using phone, email and LinkedIn as part of a multi-channel prospecting approach.
• Experience using Salesloft or a similar sales engagement platform.
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good account research and prospecting skills.
• The ability to identify and engage different personas within an organisation.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Experience working towards activity, opportunity and pipeline targets.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Account Executives, Marketing and other BDRs.
• Resilience, consistency and a willingness to learn and take coaching.
• An interest in technology, customer experience and AI.

AI fluency is a desirable skill at Genesys. Experience using AI tools to support account research, prospecting, personalisation, productivity or sales activities would be advantageous.

Hybrid Working and Travel

This is a hybrid role, with a minimum expectation of two days per week in our London office.

Working alongside the UKI BDR and Sales teams is an important part of the role. Office days provide an opportunity to collaborate on accounts, prospect together, share knowledge, receive coaching and build strong relationships with the wider sales organisation.

The role also requires the flexibility to travel and attend local customer, partner and industry events across the UK and Ireland when required.

What Success Looks Like

Success in the BDR role means:

• Consistently generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting.
• Maintaining strong outbound activity across phone, email and digital channels.
• Building a healthy pipeline of target accounts and prospects.
• Having good quality conversations with the right people within target organisations.
• Effectively using Salesloft and Salesforce to manage activity, prospects and pipeline.
• Working closely with Account Executives to develop and execute account prospecting plans.
• Using data, technology and AI to improve the quality and efficiency of prospecting.
• Building strong working relationships across BDR, Sales and Marketing.
• Consistently working towards individual and team pipeline targets.
