Business Development Representative I (Onsite)

Position overview

The Business Development Representative I is one of the first points of contact in the FRONTSTEPS sales cycle, identifying and cultivating new-logo management companies with the potential to become FRONTSTEPS clients. This is a lead-generation role: you will source, qualify, and book meetings for the Account Executive team, and you will be measured and paid on the quality of those meetings — meetings held and accepted by an AE, and meetings that convert to qualified opportunities — not on raw activity volume.
BDR I is the entry point of a defined three-level career path (BDR I → BDR II → BDR III) with published compensation steps at each level and potential progression into either an Account Executive or Customer Success Manager role based on demonstrated skills and career goals. Promotion is performance-triggered, with earliest eligibility at nine months.

Essential functions

• Develop a complete technical understanding of the FRONTSTEPS platform, including FRONTSTEPS Manager, FRONTSTEPS Community, FRONTSTEPS Caliber, FRONTSTEPS Pay, and ALLi.
• Use calling, emailing, and social outreach to generate qualified meetings for the Account Executive team; at full ramp, expected activity is approximately 250 calls and 10 hours of talk time per week.
• Book and confirm meetings with qualified new-logo prospects; full-ramp expectation is 12 confirmed meetings per month, of which 10 are held and accepted by the receiving Account Executive.
• Qualify prospects against the FRONTSTEPS qualification bar: identified pain, completed metric, and a documented next step.
• Develop a pipeline of quality business meetings that converts to qualified opportunities (full-ramp expectation of 8 qualified opportunities per month) for the assigned sales territory.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of all lead and meeting activity in Salesforce.
• Build strong working relationships with territory-based Account Executives and incorporate their feedback on meeting quality.
• Ramp on a graduated quota schedule (25% / 50% / 75% / 100% across months one through four) with variable compensation guaranteed at target during the first three months.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Skills & qualifications

• BA / BS or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a SaaS or B2B sales development role.
• Coachable, resilient, and willing to test new outreach strategies; comfortable with a high-volume phone-first motion.
• A professional demeanor via phone, email, and in person; a strong listener who can identify a prospect's needs.
• Motivated to build a career in SaaS sales or customer success — this role is designed as the entry point to both.
• Knowledge of lead generation, property management, or HOA management software is a plus.
