Business Development Representative (SF)

About Sequel

Every company is becoming a media company. The problem is that most of them are building their audience on someone else's platform, and handing their best data to it.

Sequel fixes that. We power webinars, virtual events, and video programs that live directly on a company's own website, so every registration, view, question, and click becomes first-party data they own. Then we put that data to work. With our new AI agents, Sequel helps marketing teams create programs faster, turn engaged viewers into pipeline, and grow their audience without adding headcount.

We call it - Human Moments, Agentic Momentum.

We're trusted by 300+ customers, some of the world's fastest growing companies like Cisco, Zoominfo, Clay, ElevenLabs, Newsweek, etc. are building their audience with Sequel. We've kept zero churn among our mid market & enterprise customers, and we've tripled our growth multiple times. We're VC-backed and recently closed a new round of funding to double down on AI and scale the team.

BDR @ Sequel.io - SF Hub

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in Sequel's go-to-market engine, generating qualified pipeline for the sales team through outbound prospecting, warmbound lead activation, field events, and warm introductions. The BDR is often the first human touchpoint for prospects, helping them understand Sequel's value and guiding them toward a well-qualified demo with our Account Executives.

We already have two BDRs on the team and we're growing. One of our BDRs is now transitioning into an Account Executive role after crushing goals for 18 months.

We're looking for someone who is hungry, energized by our pace of growth, obsessed with hitting targets, and constantly learning. This role requires an experimentation mindset and the willingness to persevere through rejection, paired with the ability to build rapport fast, over the phone, over email, or in person, with buyers who start out skeptical because they don't want to be sold to.

You don't need a lot of prior experience, but you do need to learn quickly and be enthusiastic about building systems with AI. You'll join an existing team that's performing and hitting quota, working hard but having fun, with real opportunities for internal advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Outbound prospecting across cold calling, cold email, LinkedIn outreach, social selling, and multi-threading into target accounts

• Research on accounts and contacts to craft targeted sequences aligned to buyer personas (Marketing, Demand Gen, MOps)

• Warm introductions sourced from Sequel executives, investors, and partners, converted into qualified conversations

• Warmbound lead activation: demo requests, webinar attendees, content downloads, and website engagement signals, qualified using SPICED-aligned discovery

• No-show and warmbound re-engagement through structured call, email, and occasional SMS workflows

• Representing Sequel at industry events and trade shows, prospecting on-site and soliciting product demos

• Demo scheduling and handoff to Account Executives, with clean SPICED discovery notes and CRM hygiene

• Pipeline generation and reporting against weekly and monthly demo booking targets

• Experimentation across messaging, cadences, subject lines, and channels, including AI-assisted testing to improve cold call and cold email results, with learnings documented for the team

What you'll bring

• Hunger to hit and exceed targets, energized rather than daunted by a fast-growing, fast-changing company

• Natural rapport-builder who can earn trust quickly with skeptical buyers, by phone, email, or in person

• High curiosity about the product itself, with a willingness to dig in and learn how Sequel compares to competitors in a crowded market

• Comfort with experimentation and the resilience to keep going through rejection

• Genuine interest in using AI tools day to day and learning new ones as they emerge

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Little to no prior experience required, but a fast learner who takes coaching well
