About VertiGIS

VertiGIS builds powerful GIS software that helps organizations design, manage, and operate complex networks and infrastructure. Our products enhance leading mapping platforms, most notably Esri’s ArcGIS, and are used globally by telecommunications operators, utilities, and public sector organizations.

Within VertiGIS, the Telecommunications Business Unit focuses on enabling fiber and telecom operators to plan, document, and operate their networks more efficiently. Our flagship telco product, ConnectMaster, supports the full network lifecycle across planning, design, documentation, and operations.

We offer challenging and meaningful careers in a collaborative, international environment. Our teams are made up of driven, curious, and supportive people who enjoy learning, growing, and doing impactful work together.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to support the growth of our Telecommunications business, with a specific focus on ConnectMaster.

Reporting to the Director of Global Business Development, you will work closely with Account Managers and Marketing to identify, qualify, and progress new sales opportunities with telecommunications operators. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, and product, and is well suited to someone who enjoys outbound prospecting, structured follow-up, and developing a strong understanding of a technical product and its value.

You will support inbound leads from campaigns, events, and webinars, while also driving proactive outbound outreach to net-new telecom prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support sales and marketing initiatives for ConnectMaster, including campaigns, webinars, and events.

• Follow up on inbound leads in a timely and structured manner.

• Proactively identify and engage new prospects through outbound outreach via email, phone, and social channels.

• Research target telecom operators, service providers, and relevant decision makers.

• Understand prospect needs and challenges related to fiber network planning, documentation, and operations.

• Qualify opportunities and route them to the appropriate Account Manager or Partner, scheduling next steps as needed.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM and sales engagement systems.

• Use tools such as Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and data enrichment platforms to execute and track outreach.

• Build a strong understanding of the ConnectMaster product, its use cases, and value proposition.

• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to continuously improve outreach messaging and targeting.

• Experience in a Business Development, Sales Development, or Lead Generation role, ideally in B2B or software sales.

• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.

• Comfortable engaging prospects via outbound outreach and follow-up.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience using CRM and sales enablement tools such as Salesforce, Dynamics, NetSuite, Outreach, ZoomInfo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Curious and motivated to learn a technical product and industry.

Nice to Have

• Experience in telecommunications, fiber networks, or infrastructure-related industries.

• Familiarity with GIS, network planning, or asset management concepts.

What Success Looks Like

• Consistent creation of high-quality, well-qualified opportunities for the Telco sales team.

• Strong understanding of ConnectMaster use cases, buyers, and target accounts.

• Effective collaboration with sales and marketing to support pipeline growth.

How to Apply

Please apply with a cover letter and a resume.

A cover letter complements your resume. It allows you to elaborate on your background and experience. It provides you with an opportunity to address how you meet the requirements for the role. It demonstrates your interest. These are important topics that aren’t always covered in a resume alone. Your resume is factual, your cover letter is personal.

We’ve had the most success with applicants that include a cover letter.

Only applicants that include a cover letter will be considered. We look forward to receiving your application!
