Job Title: Senior Chemist / Team Leader (Quantitative Analysis & Green Chemistry)
Occupation: Industrial / Analytical Chemist
Location: Tuas, Singapore
Availability: Immediate or short notice preferred
About the Role
We transform hazardous industrial waste into high-value resources—recovering base and precious metals, regenerating spent acids, synthesizing industrial minerals, and converting waste plastics into circular oil and chemical feedstocks.
We are looking for a meticulous, energetic Senior Chemist / Laboratory Team Leader with a strong sense of ownership to run our Quantitative Analysis Laboratory and drive applied Green Chemistry R&D.
In our operations, the laboratory is the eyes and ears of the plant. Your analytical data dictates how incoming hazardous waste is fingerprinted, how reactor batches are dosed in real time, and whether our recovered commodities meet strict commercial specifications. We need a hands-on specialist who combines rigorous instrumental analysis with practical industrial chemistry—someone who takes pride in data accuracy, keeps instruments running at peak reliability, and thrives on solving real-world chemical recovery problems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantitative Analysis Lab Leadership & QA/QC
- Lead daily operations in the Quantitative Analysis Laboratory, setting testing priorities and supervising lab technicians across incoming waste characterization, in-process batch control, effluent discharge verification, and final product Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Enforce strict QA/QC protocols—including method validation, multi-point calibration, matrix matching, blanks, spikes, and duplicate checks—to guarantee fast, unambiguous, and repeatable analytical results for production and commercial teams.
2. Complex Sample Preparation & Wet Chemistry
- Execute and refine sample preparation techniques across difficult, non-homogeneous industrial matrices—including spent mineral and mixed acids, metal-bearing sludges, filter cakes, spent catalysts, industrial wastewater, and pyrolysis oils.
- Perform acid digestions (hotplate/microwave, aqua regia, specialized digestions), extractions, filtrations, gravimetric analysis, volumetric titrations, specific gravity (SG), and pH/ORP profiling in strict accordance with standard operating procedures.
3. Instrumental Analysis & Technical Troubleshooting
- Operate, calibrate, develop methods for, and perform routine preventive maintenance and first-line troubleshooting across our core analytical suite:
