Full description
As Chief Marketing Officer, you will shape how DRMP identifies opportunities, builds client relationships, and wins work. In engineering consulting, growth depends on understanding client priorities, positioning technical expertise, and bringing the right team to each pursuit. You will connect marketing, business development, market intelligence, and communications into a coordinated strategy that supports profitable growth and lasting client relationships.
This role combines strategic influence with hands-on leadership. You will partner with firm and operational leaders to decide where to compete, develop client and pursuit strategies, and coach technical professionals to communicate their value. You will also build the marketing and business development team’s capability and strengthen DRMP’s market presence. The opportunity is to shape both the growth strategy and the practices that turn it into results.
Growth Strategy and Market Intelligence
- Partner with firm leadership to translate business goals into focused market, client, and growth plans. Recommend where to invest, expand, or redirect effort based on opportunity, competitive position, and delivery capability.
- Track client capital plans, funding programs, procurement activity, legislation, and competitors to identify opportunities early and build a qualified pursuit pipeline.
- Guide go/no-go decisions with a clear view of client relationships, competitive positioning, pursuit investment, and the firm’s ability to win and deliver.
- Use pipeline, win-rate, client-growth, and pursuit data to assess results, challenge assumptions, and adjust priorities with operational leaders.
Pursuit Strategy and Winning Work
- Lead strategy for major pursuits, from early positioning through RFQ/RFP responses and interviews. Shape differentiated win themes around client priorities and the firm’s technical strengths.
- Provide hands-on direction on critical proposals and qualifications packages, ensuring persuasive writing, clear value propositions, and consistent quality.
- Coach technical leaders and interview teams on client engagement, presentation strategy, messaging, team selection, and rehearsal.
- Lead win/loss debriefs and apply the findings to improve pursuit selection, proposal quality, interview performance, and future results.
Client Development and Account Growth
- Partner with client and technical leaders to develop key-account plans, deepen relationships, and identify needs before opportunities are formally advertised.
- Equip technical professionals to build client relationships, ask effective questions, and turn insight into practical account and pursuit actions.
- Identify opportunities to bring additional services and expertise to clients. Track continuing services contracts and subsequent task orders to help account teams convert awards into sustained work.
