About the role
Build. Automate. Innovate. Help Shape the Future of Technology.
Are you someone who enjoys working in the cloud just as much as writing code? Do you thrive on solving complex technical challenges, automating processes, and developing applications that make a real difference?
At JMARK, we're looking for a Cloud Systems Administrator & Developer II to join our AI Operations team.
This unique position combines AWS cloud infrastructure administration with hands-on software development, giving you the opportunity to manage cloud environments, develop innovative applications, and contribute directly to JMARK's growing AI initiatives.
We're looking for someone who can confidently work across both infrastructure and development, take ownership of technical projects, and collaborate with a team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional results.
If you enjoy building solutions rather than simply maintaining systems, this could be the opportunity for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Administration
- Independently provision, configure, manage, and optimize AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules to automate infrastructure deployments and configurations.
- Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and performing efficiently.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, secrets management, and patching.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Implement and test backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve cloud performance, optimize resource utilization, and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline infrastructure and application deployments.
Software Development & AI Applications
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for JMARK's custom AI application.
- Write clean, maintainable, production-quality Python code.
- Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs that connect applications, cloud services, and data sources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.
- Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to support application functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain development standards, and help improve software quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into functional solutions.
