Full description
OCH Technologies is seeking a Construction Project Manager to manage a new FAA facility construction and buildout projects for the Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) program, from design review through construction, commissioning, and turnover. This role works with the prime contractor's program team, FAA facility and operations staff, architects, engineers, and general contractors to keep multiple projects on schedule, within budget, and safe. Many of these sites are active air traffic facilities, so work has to be planned around operations that can't go down. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction project management experience in the field and a track record of keeping contractors and stakeholders aligned across concurrent projects.
Location
Remote, U.S.-based. Candidates must live within reasonable access of a major airport to support regular travel to FAA facilities and project sites
Travel
Approximately 40% or more during the initial buildout phase, with travel expected to decrease as projects progress. Regular travel to FAA facilities and construction sites, including overnight and multi-day trips, will remain a requirement.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent FAA facility construction and buildout projects from design review through closeout and turnover.
- Build and maintain project schedules, track progress against milestones, and drive corrective action when work slips.
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to identify constructability concerns, code compliance issues, and alignment with FAA facility standards and contract requirements.
- Monitor general contractor and subcontractor performance on site, including schedule adherence, quality, safety compliance, inspections, and documentation; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions with appropriate project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with FAA facility and operations staff to plan work around live operations, including site access, construction phasing, and cutover.
- Track project cost, change orders and RFIs, and flag budget or schedule risk early.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, systems integrators and trades so facility readiness lines up with equipment installation.
- Produce status reports, risk logs and briefings for the prime contractor and FAA stakeholders.
- Support commissioning, punch lists and turnover documentation.
- Support proposal efforts and organic growth opportunities as needed.
Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.
