**About the Role
You decide how Buck Mason sounds and what our content is for. This is more than a copywriting job. You bring a strong point of view on how content should show up across every channel (email, site, social, paid, in-store) and you hold that line. You know menswear and womenswear deeply, you think hard about who our customer is, and you can say what a given piece of content needs to do before you write a word of it. Your bar for taste is high, you understand what Buck Mason stands for, and you hold every piece of content to those first principles. This role is based full time at our Los Angeles headquarters, in the room with the merchandising, creative, and email teams you'll work with every day.
What You'll Do
-
Set the content strategy across channels: what we say, where, in what voice, and why.
-
Own and evolve the brand voice. Write the guidelines, then be the example of them.
-
For every brief, define the objective and the customer before the copy: a launch email, a product page, a social post, and a paid ad each have a different job.
-
Write the copy: product descriptions, product names, email, site, social, campaign lines, and long-form when a story deserves it.
-
Partner with merchandising, design, and marketing teams so product, image, and words all tell one story.
-
Build and keep a point of view on product. Know the fabric, the make, the fit, and the reason a garment exists, for both men's and women's.
-
Turn products into platforms. Our core franchises deserve names, language, and ideas that are ours: brandable, ownable, and built to last longer than a season. You help shape a product into a story and help tell that story across channels.
-
Help drive GTM storytelling. You help decide what we're saying each month, why it matters to the customer, and how it shows up across every channel, so the calendar is a sequence of stories and not just a list of launches.
-
Review content across the brand for consistency and quality, and give direct, useful feedback.
-
Own the results. Product page conversion, email click rate, and social engagement are how we know the words are working, and you read them every week and adjust.
-
Be the reason the brand sounds like one brand. Anyone at Buck Mason should be able to say what our point of view is, and that's your job to make true.
