We are seeking an Environmental Engineer specializing in closure and reclamation to join our Environmental Team at the Cortez operation. As a vital member of this team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders and oversee the execution of closure and reclamation projects, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Your role will be critical in helping us achieve our environmental objectives and sustain our commitment to responsible mining practices.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the site's reclamation permits, including regulatory reporting and updating the Reclamation Cost Estimate models as needed.
- Implement closure and reclamation projects in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with aspects of the site’s Plan of Operations, with a primarily focus on land management obligations.
- Collect and document site as-built information to track and report reclamation liabilities, ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Analyze environmental monitoring data for compliance, reclamation, and closure programs, including data on water quality, geochemistry, vegetation, and other material characterization.
- Build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including Federal and State authorities, to communicate monitoring results and collaborate on strategies for the successful execution of closure and reclamation activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of site closure plans.
- Adhere to state and federal health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
