Position Title: Estimator
Location: Virtual Job Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $75.00 hourly
Position Overview
CES is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Estimator to provide cost estimating services for an MTA NYCT CM Division of Car Equipment (“DCE”) Car Washer Component Repairs Project. This is a fully remote position. The ideal candidate must be responsive, reliable, and able to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to develop accurate quantity take-offs and pricing.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates at various project phases.
- Perform quantity take-offs using drawings where applicable.
- Evaluate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect costs, including escalation, contingencies, and risk allowances.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, scheduling, construction, and procurement teams to validate scope, assumptions, and pricing.
- Support bid preparation, including pricing strategies, subcontractor comparisons, and bid reviews.
- Analyze scope changes, claims, and variations, providing cost impact assessments and backup documentation.
- Develop change order estimates and support team during negotiations.
- Additional duties as assigned by Management
