About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Software Developer with strong PL/SQL expertise and a talent for business analysis. You'll design, build and integrate customised extensions to our standard product. Often working directly with clients, you'll translate their needs into extensions that sit cleanly alongside the core product, owning both the analysis and the delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy PL/SQL extensions, customisations and integrations using the product's supported extension points, without compromising upgradeability
- Build and maintain interfaces and data integrations between our product and client or third-party systems, including data migration and reporting
- Optimise SQL and PL/SQL code, including query tuning and execution plan analysis
- Keep extensions compatible across product releases and customer systems, managing regression testing and upgrade impacts
- Lead requirements elicitation, process mapping and fit-gap analysis against standard functionality
- Prepare functional specifications and user stories
- Work with clients and stakeholders to decide what standard functionality or configuration can cover and what needs a custom extension, and propose pragmatic solutions
- Provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting and bug fixes
- Work closely with our product development team to understand architecture, release plans and roadmap, and feed back on gaps and enhancement opportunities
- Resolve complex application and data issues through root cause analysis, and decide whether fixes belong in the extension layer or with the product team
About you

- Proven business analysis or requirements experience, or a clear ability to step into it, with strong skills in documenting and validating requirements
- Solid understanding of relational database design, data modelling and performance, including large data volumes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills across complex technical and business requirements
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging clients at all levels
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies
