Must have
- A senior leader with real P&L ownership behind them (10+ years): you know what it takes to run social commerce as a business, not a campaign
- Proven people leader: you've built and led teams of specialists and you know how to develop people while keeping the pace high
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of affiliate, shop ops and live commerce: you understand how each actually works, not just the headline numbers
- Experience running a Merchant of Record model and logistics/3PL partnerships: you understand shop ops beyond the strategy layer
- Genuinely entrepreneurial: you build first, rather than waiting for a brief
- Data and tech fluency: comfortable directing a platform/tech roadmap, not just reading a dashboard
- A natural spokesperson: clients and partners want you in the room, and you're comfortable being the face of Social Commerce externally
- Ambition to build Social Commerce beyond the Netherlands, and the patience to get the model right here first
- Based in the Netherlands, with 3-5 days a week at our Amsterdam office or on-site with clients. We work hybrid, but this is a building role: you'll want to be where the team and the clients are
Full description
Who we are
We’re GoSpooky: the ones who get all things social. A global agency made for the social era. We grow brands through content, community and commerce, keeping them at the forefront of culture. Social isn’t just first, it’s the foundation.
From creatives and commerce specialists to game designers and data analysts, we cover the full social spectrum. If it shapes internet culture, we’re on it, making fast, bold and relevant work that actually gets shared.
As official partners of Instagram and Snapchat and partners and social affiliates of TikTok (Shop), we work with brands like KLM, JBL, Samsung, Prime Video and HEMA. Driven by bold ambition, endless creativity and authentic people, our teams think ahead, react fast and keep brands culturally relevant. Whether it’s live social shopping, creator management, social-first campaigns or turning a trend into a brand moment.
We’re always looking for fresh energy: people who bring new perspectives, challenge the norm and help us and our clients evolve. If you love shaking up social, thinking big and moving fast, you’ll fit right in.
The Role
As our Director of Social Commerce, you'll take full ownership of GoSpooky's social commerce business (affiliate, shop ops and live) end to end. From TikTok Shop to live shopping and beyond, you'll work at the intersection of content, creators, and commerce to drive real results for global brands. This isn't a strategy seat: you're entrepreneurial in execution, building the team, the proposition and the platform as much as directing them. You'll set the commercial and quality bar that makes GoSpooky the best social commerce company in the Netherlands and eventually in Europe.
What you'll do
- Own Social Commerce end to end (affiliate, shop ops and live) with full P&L responsibility
- Lead the build-out of GoSpooky's Merchant of Record proposition, including shipping and handling with our 3PL partner(s)
- Lead the development and execution of high-performing social commerce strategies across platforms like TikTok Shop, Instagram, and YouTube
- Partner directly with GoSpooky's co-founder to set the commercial and quality standard that makes GoSpooky the best social commerce company in the Netherlands and eventually in Europe
- Lead and grow the Social Commerce team (currently 4-5 people across affiliate, shop ops and live), including hiring, development and performance
- With our Speaky Lead, build and scale the Speaky platform and infrastructure that makes live and social commerce genuinely scalable, not a one-off
- Be the senior leader and spokesperson for Social Commerce with clients and platform partners across the Netherlands
