Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Leader for data foundations in RaDS value team to ensure the frictionless flow of research data between data capture systems, between lab and archival systems / storage, and to establish initial master and reference data capabilities for early-stage research entities (e.g., small molecules, biologics). This role will drive engineering for application integration and lab data movement and storage from internal labs and CRO. This will also review current master and reference data needs in support of early research and establish capabilities to support these needs in collaboration with research platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with product line leader to understand data movement and integration needs – between applications, between systems of record and systems of truth and from externals parties (CROs and data providers) to company network
- Provide technical leadership to services that deliver application integrations and data integrations
- Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable integration patterns using industry-standard tools and best practices
- Ensure high-quality ingestion, schema evolution handling, lineage capture, and observability across pipelines.
- Champion best practices for batch, micro-batch, and streaming ingestion where applicable
- Own architecture, design, deployment, and operations of secure, auditable data transfer services to support inbound transfers from CROs and external data providers into the company network as well as transfers between internal storage locations
- Leveraging enterprise capabilities, architect and design reference data management (RDM) capabilities that standardize and govern common vocabularies and reference tables used across discovery (e.g., reagent catalogs, instrument types, species/strain taxonomies, assay types).
- Architect and design master data management (MDM) to support unique entity resolution and trusted master records for assets critical to discovery (samples, reagents, compounds, biological entities).
- Provide architecture and engineering leadership for Application integration, data integration and data transfers
- Act as a hands-on technical leader able to contribute to architecture, integration patterns, code reviews, and proof-of-concept work as needed.
- Lead and/or support the standing up of GxP systems where applicable, ensuring compliance with quality standards, audit readiness, and data integrity (ALCOA+).
- Communicate complex data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders; drive alignment and decision-making.
- Mentor and groom engineering leaders, fostering best practices in data management, SDLC, and compliance.
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a basic science (e.g., biology, chemistry) or in computer science/engineering.
