The Electrical Engineer supports the design, development, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustaining engineering of airborne communication and control electronics within the Radio Business Unit. The position works cross-functionally with RF, software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, test, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver reliable, configuration-controlled products and technically sound evidence for customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain electronic assemblies, schematic designs, circuit interfaces, wiring/interconnects, and supporting engineering drawings for airborne radio and control products.
- Perform circuit-level analysis, component selection, derating, power-budget assessment, signal integrity evaluation, and troubleshooting of analog/digital and power-distribution functions.
- Develop or support engineering requirements, design documentation, interface definitions, test procedures, and requirements-to-verification traceability.
- Plan and execute bench verification and design characterization using oscilloscopes, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and automated test systems as appropriate.
- Investigate anomalies and field/production failures through structured root-cause analysis, controlled experiments, data evaluation, and documented corrective actions.
- Support environmental and EMC qualification activities, including preparation, testing, discrepancy resolution, and objective-evidence packages to applicable program requirements (e.g., DO-160 and other contractual standards).
