Equipment Operator

Heavy Equipment Operator

Charlotte, North Carolina

Build Something That Matters. Not Just Another Job.

Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing Construction Department serving Charlotte and surrounding areas throughout North Carolina.

If you're looking for a job where you sit in a machine all day, this isn't it.

We're looking for a construction professional who can confidently operate heavy equipment when needed, but isn't afraid to climb out of the cab, grab a shovel, help the crew, install conduit, set poles, pull wire, pour concrete, or do whatever it takes to finish the job safely and on schedule.

We hire team players, not people who say, "That's not my job."

Equipment You'll Operate

• Skid steers

• Excavators

• Digger derricks

• Cranes

• Trenchers

• Mini excavators

• Forklifts and telehandlers

• Other construction equipment as needed

What You'll Be Doing

• Excavating trenches and foundations

• Setting light poles and concrete bases

• Operating digger derricks and cranes to unload and install poles

• Backfilling, grading, and site restoration

• Assisting with underground electrical installations

• Loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment

• Performing daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance

• Working alongside electricians and construction crews to complete projects safely and efficiently

• Traveling to projects throughout North Carolina as required

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment

• Safe, productive operator with a strong work ethic

• Willingness to perform physical construction work when equipment isn't needed

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Strong attention to safety and quality

• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• CDL is a strong plus and may be required depending on the assignment

Why Join LMI?

We're growing, investing in our people, and building one of the premier outdoor electrical construction companies in the Southeast. This is not a dead-end operator position. As we continue to expand throughout North Carolina and neighboring states, there are opportunities to advance into equipment leadership, foreman, superintendent, and project management roles for people who demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic, and leadership.

If you're the type of person who enjoys building projects, operating great equipment, working with a strong crew, and taking pride in seeing a job completed the right way, we'd like to talk with you.
