The Putney School seeks an hourly, part-time, evening library assistant to work from 6:00 pm. to 9:30 p.m., on Mondays and/or Fridays.

The evening librarian supervises the library during the evening hours between dinner and in-dorms. They assist students with their reference needs, maintain an atmosphere conducive to studying, and process and shelve books.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Supervises the library during evening hours often overseeing as many as 70 teenagers while maintaining an atmosphere that is supportive of evening study
Basic library circulation tasks including shelving and shelf reading
New book processing (covering, basic cataloging)
Reference desk assistance
Basic computer and copier troubleshooting
Monitors the checkout desk and maintains inventory control

Other duties as assigned.
