Field Project Manager

Company Overview

We are partnering with a growing custom integration firm delivering luxury smart home and commercial technology systems including lighting control, shading, home theater, distributed audio, and integrated security across the greater Austin, TX region. The company has been in business for roughly two decades and is actively expanding its presence in this market.

This is a people-led organization, built intentionally that way. Ownership came up through the field as technicians and started this company to do things differently. In their own words, "the employees are what runs the company, so we're here for them." The philosophy is simple: every company in this industry does similar work, and the real difference is the people you work alongside.

Why Join Us?

• Real Ownership from Day One — This role exists to give leadership its projects back. You'll be the one steering jobs from pre-wire through final handoff, with the authority to make it happen.
• A Path That Doesn't Stop at Technician — Leadership wants this person to build a team, not just manage one. As the business grows, there's a clear path to expand into full project management or a leadership role.
• Sizable, High-End Projects — You'll be working on luxury residential integration projects in a market where job sizes and dollar values are consistently strong, alongside a company with a strong regional reputation.
• A Leadership Team That Wants You Focused on the Field — This role reports to ownership directly, with a weekly team stand-up designed specifically to keep priorities clear and to keep you focused on execution rather than internal noise.
• Uncapped Upside Through Project Bonuses — Beyond a strong base salary, you'll be eligible for a project-based bonus tied to on-time and on-budget delivery, and to the kind of client experience that earns referrals and five-star reviews.

Job Overview

The Field Project Manager exists to solve a critical bottleneck: right now, ownership is personally managing every active project in the Austin market, which pulls focus away from sales and growth. This role takes that entirely off their plate.

You'll manage multiple residential integration projects at once, from pre-wire through final client handoff, leading and mentoring technicians and installers while staying accountable for quality, budget, and timeline on every job. You'll be the primary point of contact in the field for homeowners, builders, architects, designers, and trade partners, and you'll be expected to spot potential issues early and solve them before they become the client's problem. This is a hands-on, in-the-field role: the right person still has their tools in the car and is ready to jump in when an extra set of hands is needed, not someone looking to sit behind a desk full time.

You'll participate in a weekly leadership stand-up alongside ownership and the rest of the operations team to align priorities, report status, and flag what you need, then go execute with a clear directive for the week.
