Founding Robotics Software Engineer

Robotics is finally leaving the lab. At Momentum Research Labs, we are building the systems that turn promising models into capable machines in the real world. Our first product is a world-model based simulator for training and evaluating robot policies.

As a Founding Robotics Software Engineer, you will own the entire robotics software stack: controls, the robots we test, teleoperation, data collection, and the systems that connect learned policies to real hardware. You will build the infrastructure and tools that let us move quickly from an idea to a robot doing useful work.

This is an unusually broad, high-impact technical role for someone who wants to build, ship, and learn quickly at the frontier of physical AI. You will move fluidly between software, hardware deployment and testing, training and modeling infrastructure, and customer collaboration. If you are energized by hard technical problems, high ownership, and seeing your work operate beyond a screen, we would love to talk.

What You Will Do

• Own the robotics software stack end to end, from controls and hardware interfaces to teleoperation, robot testing, and deployment tooling.

• Build the systems that connect learned policies to real robots, and make them reliable enough to use in the physical world.

• Design and operate the teleoperation and data-collection workflows that produce the demonstrations our world models learn from.

• Build and evolve the data pipelines that power ingestion, training, and inference—from raw robot data to models running in the loop.

• Design and execute hardware evaluations that measure our world models where they matter: on real robots.

• Work directly with customers to deploy, understand, and scale their robots in the real world.

• Help define the technical foundation of a founding team working across robotics, machine learning, and production systems.

Who You Are

You have built and shipped in at least several of the following areas:

• End-to-end robotics software, including controls, hardware integration, or systems that operate real robots.

• Large-scale model training and serving infrastructure.

• Training & integration of learned policies with real hardware, including VLAs, diffusion policies, or world models.

• Teleoperation or demonstration-data collection systems.

• Robots deployed outside the lab and into the real world.

You are comfortable taking ambiguous, cross-functional problems from first principles to reliable systems. You care about the details, work well across software and hardware, and want your technical decisions to show up in a robot’s behavior—not just a benchmark. You thrive with a broad mandate, move quickly without being micromanaged, and are excited to have an outsized impact early.
