We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to design, develop and
maintain scalable, secure and resilient backend services for a centralized, cloud-native
application platform.
The platform aims to enable multiple business departments and global teams to build and
operate applications through reusable services and standardized integrations with
enterprise systems, including SAP.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot,
microservices architecture, distributed systems and event-driven architecture. The role
involves designing reusable backend capabilities, implementing asynchronous
communication patterns, optimizing databases, and ensuring reliable application
deployment and maintenance across multiple geographical regions.
Experience in enterprise application modernization, legacy system migration, platform
engineering or large-scale integration projects will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain production-grade backend services using Java 17/21
and Spring Boot.
- Design scalable microservices and RESTful APIs following SOLID principles, objectoriented design and appropriate design patterns.
- Build reusable backend capabilities and common services that can support
multiple business applications and departments.
- Design service-to-service communication using synchronous APIs and
asynchronous, event-driven patterns.
- Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka or equivalent eventstreaming platforms.
- Implement reliable event processing, retry mechanisms, idempotency, error
handling and recovery strategies.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas, SQL queries, indexes and
transaction management using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Apply caching strategies using Redis and work with NoSQL databases and search
platforms where appropriate.
