ABOUT THIS ROLE

This is a full-time, year-round position with consistent hours, and a real path into store leadership.

We're looking for someone who wants steady work and room to grow — not a seasonal or supplemental job. This role requires open weekday daytime availability in addition to weekends and event days, so it's built to be someone's primary position.

Several of our current store managers and key holders started exactly here, as full-time associates. This is a role people build a career from.

WHAT MAKES THIS JOB DIFFERENT

Every guest who walks through our door gets greeted — out loud, every time. That's the heart of what we do, and it's the one thing we ask of everyone on our team.

If greeting strangers feels uncomfortable at first, that's normal. Most of our team felt that way on day one. It gets easier fast, and we'll coach you through it.

Full-time also means something specific at RRO: you help set the tone. You're on our floor 40 hours a week, and newer team members learn by watching you. It's real responsibility, and we think that's part of what makes the role worth having.

ABOUT RED RAIDER OUTFITTER

We've been Lubbock's home for Texas Tech gear since 1975. We created the original Wreck 'Em Tech game day shirt in the early '90s — Texas Tech picked it up after us. This year marks the 27th edition of that tradition.

For a lot of our guests, walking into our store is part of the Texas Tech experience: a parent buying their freshman's first shirt, an alum back for homecoming, a family driving in for their first game at The Jones.

Our brand promise: We deliver superior Texas Tech products with game day spirit each and every day.

Your job is to make that promise real for every person who walks in.

WHAT YOU'LL DOHost guests. Greet everyone using our standard. Ask what they're shopping for. Learn their story. Walk them through the store rather than pointing.

Sell with substance. Learn the product — names, fits, fabrics, what shrinks and what doesn't — so you can recommend with confidence.

Keep the floor show-ready. Fold, size, recover, replenish, restock between guests.

Stay present with guests. Phones stay in the designated box during shifts so your focus stays where it matters.

Help newer team members find their footing. Full-time associates are who part-timers learn from. Model the pace, the energy, and the greeting.

Run register cleanly and accurately. Transactions, returns, exchanges, holds.

Take ownership. Notice what needs doing and take care of it.

Do the right thing when no one's watching. This one matters most to us.

Take coaching and put it to work right away. We coach in the moment, and we expect adjustments in the moment.

Show up for the big days. Game weekends, move-in, graduation, holidays. These are the days that define our year.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Dependability. You show up on time, ready to work. Full-time means full-time.
• Willingness to start conversations. Greeting guests and having genuine conversations is part of the job, not a personality requirement — we'll help you build the habit.
• Accountability. You own your mistakes and growing from them.
• Steady energy across a full shift — including quieter hours and the Sunday after a big Saturday.
• Physical readiness to stand, walk, fold, lift, and move merchandise throughout your shift.
• Direct, professional communication with teammates and leadership.
• Reliable transportation to your assigned store.

Retail experience is helpful but not required. We'll teach product, register, sizing, and merchandising. What we can't teach is dependability, willingness, and integrity — bring those and we'll handle the rest.

Texas Tech enthusiasm is a plus. Turning that enthusiasm into great guest service is the real skill.

OUR ONSTAGE STANDARD

When you're on our sales floor, you're onstage.

Onstage means: greeting guests, recovering product, helping teammates, staying visible and available.

Onstage doesn't mean: phone in hand, scrolling or texting, leaning on the counter, staying in the back, or waiting for a guest to come to you first.

We walk through these standards together during your first three days of training, and we hold them consistently from there — including on the shifts when leadership isn't right beside you.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS — PLEASE READThis role requires open weekday daytime availability (Monday–Friday, 9:00am–7:00 or 8:00pm) in addition to weekends and event days. This is a primary-job position, not a supplemental or around-a-class-schedule role.

You may be scheduled for:

• Weekday daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
• Opening and closing shifts
• Home football weekends (Friday–Sunday)
• Move-in weekend, graduation, tax-free weekend
• Extended holiday hours through December

These are blackout dates — the busiest and most important days of our year. Time off isn't available during these periods.

If you have a standing commitment that conflicts with weekday daytime hours or home football weekends, please tell us during the interview so we can talk about it up front.

YOUR FIRST 30 DAYS

Your first 30 days are a real evaluation window, and we're upfront about that.

Here's what we're looking for:

• Reliability — you show up, on time, prepared
• Willingness — you greet guests before you feel fully ready
• Coachability — you take feedback and put it to work
• Urgency — you move with purpose, including on slow days
• Integrity — you hold the standard when leadership isn't nearby
• Ownership — you see what needs doing and take care of it

We don't expect perfection on day one. We do expect effort, honesty, and visible growth in that first week.

And if it turns out not to be the right fit, we'll tell you early and honestly. That's a commitment we make to everyone we hire.

---

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS$15.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience. Candidates with prior retail, customer service, or supervisory experience typically start in the upper half of that range.

• Consistent full-time hours (35–40 per week), year-round
• Paid time off
• Employee merchandise discount — 3 items at 20% to start, 25% off after 90 hours worked
• Game day shirts and designated apparel when provided
• Real training on product, selling, and guest hospitality

---

GROWTH

We promote from within. Team members who hold the standard consistently, take ownership, and help develop the people around them get considered for increased responsibility and pay.

Advancement here is earned through performance rather than time served. We look at documented behavior — reliability, guest engagement, coaching ability, and integrity — over time.

Several of our current store managers and key holders started as full-time associates. We won't promise a title on a timeline, but we will tell you honestly where you stand and exactly what it takes to reach the next level.

---

BEFORE YOU APPLY

We're looking for someone who wants steady, full-time work — someone who enjoys talking with people, follows through on commitments, and takes pride in doing something well. The kind of person newer team members learn from just by watching.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Wreck 'Em!
