Skills
Must have
- Execution focused - you think big and get things done. You would rather launch something good, learn, and improve quickly than wait for perfect
- Analytical minded - you are comfortable with dashboards, unit economics, operational data, and you use evidence to make decisions quickly
- Direct, honest, and collaborative - when something is not working or will not scale, you raise it with concrete improvements and own the solution
- A commercial operator with a builder’s instinct - you become restless when things plateau and have potentially already led a region, business unit, or major growth initiative
- Experienced in automotive and/or marketplaces - you bring relevant experience from dealerships, OEMs, rental, leasing, mobility, marketplaces, or other platform business model
- An effective people leader - you have led a team and you create clarity, accountability, and momentum in a fast-moving scale-up
- Experience owning or co-owning a P&L or budget is a plus
Full description
Oscar Mobility is redefining car rental globally. With 650+ locations across the US and Europe, we are scaling fast and rewriting the rules of mobility. Our asset-light, data-driven platform enables car dealerships and workshops to unlock new revenue streams by turning idle vehicles into profitable rental and subscription services while delivering excellent customer experiences.
We launched in Wisconsin in 2025 and now work with dealerships across 45+ locations in the state. We are looking for a General Manager to own the US business: strengthen performance in Wisconsin, build the team, and lead expansion across the Midwest and into new states. You will own the US strategy and P&L, working closely with Oscar’s global leadership team. This is a hands-on role combining commercial leadership, operational execution, and market development.
Location: US (hybrid), preferred Wisconsin or Minnesota
Employment type: Full time
Travel: Regular travel within the US
What you will do
- Own the US growth plan and business performance
- Own Oscar’s US strategy: decide where to compete, prioritize investment, and set growth and profitability targets in alignment with the global leadership team
- Own the US P&L, driving revenue growth, managing costs, and improving profitability through clear budgets and KPI management
- Lead expansion into new states, from market assessment and partner acquisition to launch and ramp-up. Work with the relevant specialists to establish regulatory and operational readiness, and validate demand and unit economics before scaling
- Lead and develop the US team across sales, partner management, and customer service. Set clear accountability, build repeatable operating processes, and hire in line with business needs and budget. Current team is 6-7 employees.
- Adapt Oscar’s model to the US market
- Be the voice of the US market across Oscar. Understand how dealer economics, customer behavior, regulation, pricing, marketing, and operating practices differ from Europe
- Identify where our product, processes, commercial model, and go-to-market approach need to adapt-and work with product, operations, marketing, and leadership to make those changes happen
- Grow the partner network and strengthen existing locations
- Identify where supply, demand, partner engagement, or execution is limiting growth and coordinate the right commercial, operational, or marketing response
- Lead the team’s sales and partner development efforts, building trusted relationships with dealerships and dealer groups to grow Oscar’s partner network
