What We're Looking For
Join our growing Maine team! At HNTB, you can create a career that is meaningful to you while building communities that matter to all of us. For more than a century, we have been delivering solutions for some of the largest, most complex infrastructure projects across the country. With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.
This opportunity is for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Maine practice and support a strong and diverse program of highway, bridge, and other transportation infrastructure projects. The position will be based in Maine, with a primary focus on projects throughout the state as well as opportunities to support projects across New England. Our workload includes projects of varying size, complexity, and technical challenge, providing an engaging mix of assignments and opportunities to grow.
This role entails developing geotechnical analyses, design calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and recommendations in support of project delivery. Working closely with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams, you'll evaluate subsurface conditions, develop and assess design alternatives, address technical challenges, and help deliver practical solutions that meet project requirements and schedules.
Typical assignments may include planning, overseeing, and interpreting subsurface investigations; foundation design and analysis; settlement and bearing capacity evaluations; slope stability; retaining structures; embankments and earthwork; ground improvement; and other geotechnical elements associated with highway and bridge projects. The role also includes opportunities to collaborate directly with clients and other technical disciplines and to mentor junior engineers and review their work.
As a member of HNTB’s Maine team, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of an established and growing transportation practice.
