##
Your mentor about interning at Drieam

“We don't treat interns as interns. From day one you're a full member of a scrum team, with a seat at the table in design discussions and your code running in production. That comes with real guidance: a dedicated mentor, extensive feedback on every pull request, and plenty of pair programming. We work with modern tools, like AI to speed up the boring stuff and accessibility built in from the start. That leaves you time for the interesting problems, which is often where a great thesis comes from.”

Martijn, Team lead – Product & Development

A typical day as an intern at Drieam

09.00 Daily stand-up with your scrum team. You discuss sprint progress and flag where you'd like to pair up on a tricky task.

09.15 Development. You're building a feature for Portflow. You use Claude Code to scaffold the boilerplate and explore the codebase, so you can focus on the business logic.

11.30 Check-in with your mentor. You spend half an hour on your graduation research question: what you learned this week, what to measure next, and how it connects to the product.

13.00 Lunch with the team. Healthy, fresh and free.

13.30 Pair programming. You hop on a call with a senior developer to tackle a complex integration. Together you audit a new component to make sure it works fully with keyboard and screen reader navigation.

14.30 Time for a workout. Clear your head for the afternoon session.

15.30 Testing & refining. You dive into the Ruby on Rails backend and make sure the API is intuitive to consume for the React and React Native apps. You wrap it up with a solid RSpec suite.

17.30 Wrap up. You push your commits, check the GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline, and note down anything useful for your thesis before heading home.

And tomorrow?

Tomorrow will look completely different. One day you're working in the React Native codebase of our mobile app, the next you're optimizing a Rails API or refining a React frontend. Together we'll shape your graduation assignment around your interests and your university's requirements. That could mean exploring our move toward the Oxc ecosystem, improving our AI-assisted workflows, or making our platforms more inclusive for learners with disabilities. **We want your input.

Did you know that Drieam...

... has grown from a small startup to a highly driven team of about sixty professionals in under ten years? ... has an exceptionally low staff turnover? ... and that almost all our interns want to keep working for us after they graduate?

That is no surprise, because at Drieam:

• It's all about you! Tell us what you like, what you're good at and what your ambitions are. We'll shape your internship around that.

• You are part of a self-directed team, with clear frameworks, a dedicated mentor, and the coaching you need to graduate successfully.

• You can be who you are. Our team brings together many nationalities and authentic personalities.

• Your personal development is key. Beyond your graduation, you'll grow through code reviews, architecture discussions, courses and meet-ups.

What we offer

• An internship allowance.

• A spot at our Eindhoven office, where you'll work alongside your team and mentor most of the week. That's where you learn the most. There's room to plan around your studies and the occasional day at home.

• A MacBook and everything else you need to do your work effectively.

• Free, healthy daily lunches, snacks and fresh fruit.

• Weekly team drinks (it's fine if you're not up for it) and several outings a year with the whole Drieam team.

• A real chance to stay on after you graduate. Most of our interns do.

This is why you fit perfectly in our Drieam team

You're a curious developer in the making who loves clean code and knows that software is a team sport. New technologies excite you, whether that's the speed of Oxc or the potential of AI-assisted coding, and you care about the experience of all learners.

Furthermore, you:

• Are a BSc or MSc student looking for a graduation internship.

• Have some experience with, or a strong desire to master, Ruby on Rails, React and/or React Native.

• Believe in pair programming: two brains are better than one.

• Value high-quality testing (Vitest, RSpec) and inclusive design.

• Are proactive: when you spot a manual process or an accessibility barrier, you look for a way to fix it.

• Have an excellent spoken and written command of English.

• Are based in or near Eindhoven.
