Head - Business Development

The Opportunity:

This is a founding commercial leadership role where you will own the entire revenue function, build and lead the sales team (2 BD executives, tender coordinator, and marketing support already being assembled), and work directly with the promoter. For the right person, this is a P&L-track role with genuine authority, not a middle-management sales job.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the company revenue target across three verticals: EV 2W/3W OEM battery supply.

• Personally hunt and close strategic accounts - EV OEM supply contracts and large institutional orders; this is a player-coach role, not a reviewing role.

• Lead, train, and performance-manage the BD team; build sales processes, CRM discipline, pipeline reviews, and incentive administration.

• Own pricing strategy and commercial negotiations - payment terms, credit exposure, supply agreements - jointly with the MD.

• Represent Soar at industry exhibitions and OEM supplier ecosystems; build the company's commercial reputation.

• Feed customer technical requirements (chemistry, cycle life, C-rating, BMS, certification) back into product and production planning.

Must-Have Requirements:

• 6+ years in B2B sales of lithium-ion batteries, battery packs, cells, BMS, EV chargers, or directly comparable EV/energy-storage components - candidates from generic solar panel, inverter, or electrical trading backgrounds without battery exposure will not be shortlisted.

• Verifiable record of personally closing B2B orders with EV OEMs, fleet operators, battery swapping companies, or solar EPC/institutional buyers - you will be asked to name accounts and order values in the first conversation.

• Working technical fluency: NMC vs LFP trade-offs, Ah/voltage configurations, BMS basics, AIS-156 and BIS certification landscape.

• Team leadership experience - has directly managed and grown a B2B sales team.

• Based in or willing to relocate to Mumbai; travel if required.

Preferred Candidate Background:

Battery and energy storage companies such as Exicom, Trontek, Okaya (lithium division), Inverted Energy, Neuron Energy, Livguard/Luminous lithium businesses, Coslight India, Amara Raja (new energy), or component suppliers selling into the EV OEM ecosystem.

What We Offer:

• Founding leadership seat with direct promoter access and full commercial authority.

• Uncapped, collection-linked incentive structure (details at offer stage).

• Visible path to P&L leadership as the company scales.
