Head of Marketing, ANZ

Our Journey

The ShopBack Group is Asia-Pacific's leading shopping and rewards platform, trusted by over 20 million active members across 13 markets, including Germany and the United States. Driven by the vision to make every day more rewarding, ShopBack saves members money and time with more ways to earn and more to do with what they earn, and empowers merchants and brand partners to effectively engage its members. Founded in Singapore in 2014, ShopBack now powers over US$5.5 billion in annual sales and half a million transactions a day for more than 20,000 online and in-store partners.

The Role

We're hiring a Head of Marketing to own every aspect of marketing across Australia and New Zealand, from customer acquisition through to growth and retention. As part of the ShopBack ANZ leadership group, you will work closely with local teams and regional stakeholders in Singapore to achieve aspirational goals.

Australia and New Zealand is one of the group's largest markets and an integral part of the ShopBack ecosystem. Thousands of partners sit inside it, from the largest brands in the world across fashion, travel, grocery and electronics, through to a direct partnership with Westpac, one of Australia's leading banks.

Your scope covers all of it: online cashback, gift cards, receipt scanning and the partnership portfolio. New customer growth is the number you carry, with retention and reactivation alongside it. Marketing a proposition this broad to millions of members, in two markets with different economics, is the job.

If you are an experienced, self-motivated and innovative marketer with strong people management abilities, this could be the role for you.

What You'll Own

• Accountable for marketing strategy to drive the highest ROI on user acquisition, growth and retention across marketing channels including CRM, social media, partnerships, digital and content marketing, and influencers.

• Be responsible for demand growth and user development funnels on both existing and new business initiatives across ShopBack Australia and New Zealand.

• Provide leadership, coaching and direction to a high-performance team, ensuring that they are well briefed, supported, that they work as effective members of the wider team, and that they deliver on their objectives.

• Derive actionable insights using reports and data, present meaningful analysis, and recommend impactful initiatives and optimisations.

• Evaluate campaign performance to relevant stakeholders, including providing regular management reporting to inform the organisation's performance.

• Manage sizeable marketing budgets, provide accurate ROI forecasting and appropriate investments.

• Build AI into how the function works, so that the team produces more and better output than its size suggests.

Essentials to Succeed

• At least 10 years of experience in integrated marketing strategy and in a team management role.

• Experience in eCommerce, payments, B2C marketing, and scale-ups is highly valued.

• An excellent track record of driving successful creative marketing campaigns, including all elements of the marketing mix.

• A structured thinker who can break big, ambiguous challenges down into discrete, solvable problems.

• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative means to map strategy, decisions, product iterations and roadmap prioritisation back to data.

• Commercial acumen, budget management, and reporting experience.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills to achieve outstanding results.

• Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, with an ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally.

• A creative instinct, both in developing campaigns and in constantly evaluating how we work in order to improve processes.

• Evidence of AI changing how a marketing team works, not only how you work personally. Be ready to show what you built or commissioned, who else uses it, and what it replaced.

• Experience in New Zealand, or the appetite to build a real understanding of it quickly. NZ is a market with its own economics, not a rounding error on the AU plan.

• AI Builder — demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude Code, ChatGPT) to build agentic workflows, sharpen analysis, and move 3x faster at scale as an individual and for the team.

ShopBacker Traits

• Agency - We take ownership and act, rather than waiting for permission. When something's blocking progress, we find a way through it and follow through until it's done.

• Judgement - We aim for high-impact decisions, not just easy wins, and we put the bigger picture ahead of individual interests. That means moving quickly and confidently, while staying thoughtful about when a call really matters.

• Learning Velocity - We pick up new skills fast and let go of old habits just as quickly when something better comes along. We benchmark ourselves against the best and keep raising our own bar.

• Tenacity - We stay in it when things get hard, keeping a level head under pressure. We debate openly before deciding, then commit fully — and support each other along the way.

What's in it for ShopBackers

• Career growth opportunities to take on greater challenges that help you realise your ambitions.

• Be part of a winning team on a journey to global scale.

• Competitive compensation based on performance.

• Candid, open, and collaborative culture where feedback is valued.
