At Reston Association (RA), we’re committed to enhancing the quality of life for Reston residents through outstanding programs, exceptional services, and dedicated stewardship of the community’s natural and recreational resources. As the community's steward, RA is responsible for maintaining the quality of life in Reston, chiefly by caring for and administering the community's most precious asset - its real property.

This position oversees daily and seasonal work planning, landscape inspections, plant health assessments, project coordination, employee training, and safety compliance. The Horticulture Supervisor also assists with budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement while partnering with residents, staff, contractors, and facility users to address landscape maintenance needs and identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, this position supports emergency response operations, including weather-related events and snow and ice removal, helping to ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the community.

Experience working in a homeowner’s association, municipal, or similar parks and recreation setting.
Strong knowledge of horticultural and landscape maintenance practices, including plant identification, planting, pruning, mulching, irrigation, weed management, pest control, herbicide application, native plants, and environmentally responsible landscape management techniques.
Experience leading, training, coaching, and supervising landscape maintenance crews while promoting safety, accountability, and high-quality work standards.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and inspect daily and seasonal landscape maintenance activities, manage multiple projects, evaluate plant health, and implement corrective actions as needed.
