Host — Job Description

Hosts at Black Rock Bar & Grill set the tone for the entire dining experience. You are the first friendly face our guests see and the welcoming voice they hear when they call. Whether you’re greeting guests at the door, answering questions over the phone, or coordinating priority seating, you create the warm, energetic first impression that defines our brand.

This role is fast‑paced, guest‑focused, and essential to smooth operations. You’ll manage the flow of the dining room, communicate wait times clearly, and work closely with the service team to ensure every guest feels valued from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.

About the Experience

As a Host, you introduce guests to the Black Rock experience before they even sit down. You’ll welcome them with genuine hospitality, explain our unique sizzling‑rock concept when needed, and help set expectations for their visit. Your ability to stay organized, upbeat, and attentive helps create the excitement and energy that make Black Rock memorable. Guests may come for the food—but their experience starts with you.

What You Bring

• Hospitality mindset — You enjoy making people feel welcome and creating positive first impressions.

• Clear communication — You answer phones professionally, provide accurate information, and manage seating with confidence.

• Organization & flow awareness — You keep the dining room running smoothly by coordinating priority seating and managing the waitlist.

• Team‑first attitude — You work closely with servers, bussers, and managers to ensure seamless service.

• Calm under pressure — You stay upbeat and composed during busy shifts.

• Experience preferred — Prior host or customer‑service experience is helpful, but a great attitude and willingness to learn matter most.
