Full description
This HW Commodity Procurement Specialist II will be the driving force behind sourcing excellence and supplier compliance for hardware procurement programs, transforming complex engineering requirements into qualified, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain solutions with the speed and precision needed to meet aggressive program timelines. As the critical link between engineering design teams and the supplier base, this role ensures that every sourced component meets rigorous quality, traceability, and compliance standards while building a resilient and scalable supplier network that supports long-term program success.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated HW Commodity Procurement Specialist II to lead upstream sourcing activities, supplier qualification, and compliance management for hardware procurement programs. This role sits at the critical intersection of engineering requirements, supplier management, and procurement execution, ensuring that sourcing strategies deliver qualified components on time, within budget, and in full compliance with applicable quality and traceability standards.
In this role, you will serve as the primary sourcing point of contact between engineering teams, commodity managers, and the external supplier base, translating hardware design specifications, bill-of-materials requirements, and component-level needs into executable sourcing strategies. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and qualifying new suppliers, managing approved vendor lists (AVLs), conducting supplier capability assessments, and ensuring that all sourcing decisions support program milestones, cost targets, and supply chain resilience objectives.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and RF hardware commodities, and has a proven ability to build productive supplier relationships while maintaining rigorous compliance and quality standards. You will own the upstream procurement lifecycle from requirements analysis through supplier qualification, source selection, and procurement readiness.
