- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3+ years’ relevant experience across IAM, Information Security, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering or a related technical environment.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory and identity technologies.
- Good understanding of IAM concepts including authentication, authorisation, identity lifecycle management and access governance.
- Experience configuring or supporting SSO and authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting or automation.
- Understanding of security groups, role-based access control (RBAC) and access governance.
- Understanding of APIs and application integration concepts with working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

- This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to attend our Tralee office at least three (3) days in a work week.
- Normal support day is 7.5 hours, which run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
- Occasional planned Saturday work to support with outside teams’ projects and on-call coverage during Irish bank holidays may be required to support global operations, rotated between the team.
Role Description
SMBC is seeking anSecurity Solutions Engineer to join our Identity and Access Management Engineering team.
This role will support the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of enterprise identity services with a particular focus on Microsoft Entra ID, Identity Governance, Single Sign-On and automation.
You will work closely with application, infrastructure and security teams to deliver secure access solutions while supporting application integrations, access governance and the automation of IAM processes.
This role reports to the Security Solutions Engineering Team Lead.
Role Objectives: Expertise & Delivery
- Support the administration, configuration and continuous improvement of Microsoft Entra ID and Identity Governance services.
- Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations using SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Support application onboarding including access packages, entitlement management, security groups and identity lifecycle processes.
