Inside Sales Account Executive

Full-time, in-office · Downtown Cleveland, OH/Indianapolis, IN

About us

Wholesale brokerage hasn't changed much in decades. When a risk doesn't fit an agent's usual carriers, they email submissions, wait days for answers, re-key the same information into portal after portal, and often end up referring the account away.

We're a private equity–backed wholesale brokerage built on a digital bind platform. We're starting with small commercial and expanding into E&S and middle market from there. Agents start with the risk and see which markets want it before doing the full submission. Where digital bind is available, they can quote and bind it themselves, and where it needs underwriting, our team picks it up without making them start over. Agencies appointed with us get access to the platform at no cost.

You'd be one of the first members of a new outbound sales team in downtown Cleveland, with the investment behind us to grow and real room to grow with it.

The role

As an Account Executive, you'll open new independent agency relationships. You'll find agencies that write commercial business, show them where their risks fit, guide them through appointment and help them get their first submissions in.

You'll work closely with the rest of the sales team, including a Regional Director you'll partner with on key agencies as those relationships grow, and you'll share in that growth. You won't be selling insurance policies. You'll be selling a better way of placing them to the agents who do.

What you'll do

• Identify and prospect independent agencies that write commercial business, by phone, email, LinkedIn and in person.
• Run discovery conversations and platform demos built around the accounts on an agency's desk.
• Guide agencies through appointment, from signup to compliance approval.
• Get newly appointed agencies quoting: walk them through their first submission and help them bring more producers on board.
• Partner with your Regional Director to keep agency relationships growing.
• Keep every lead, activity and opportunity current in HubSpot, and follow up consistently.
• Share what you hear from agents with leadership to help shape our strategy and product.
• Represent us at industry events as the team grows.

What you bring

Required

• 6 months to 1+ year in relationship-based sales, business development or a customer-facing role.
• Comfort with high-volume outbound: daily calls, voicemails and multi-touch email and LinkedIn sequences.
• Clear, confident and genuine communication on the phone, on video and in person.
• Strong organization and consistent follow-through.
