Full description
Do you want to build a production-grade iOS app where AI interactions are central to the product, with streaming responses, smart fallbacks and real user trust?
I’m partnered with an AI-native start-up building proactive applications for people who aren’t used to complex prompting. Their first product is an agent-first mobile communication app, bringing intelligence to conversations, organising and workflows with little to no prompting.
They’re now looking for an iOS Engineer to own the client experience end to end. This is not a thin integration role. You’ll shape the product, work closely with backend and ML engineers, and see your work in front of real users.
Their ideal candidate would have strong experience within:
- Mobile: 3+ years of iOS development in Swift / SwiftUI
- AI: Hands-on experience integrating AI-powered features into mobile apps
- Concurrency: async/await, concurrency and background tasks
- Performance: Memory, CPU and battery optimisation
- Production: Shipping and maintaining live iOS apps to a high App Store standard
- Resilience: Designing for latency, partial failure and non-deterministic AI behaviour
- Bonus: CoreML / TensorFlow Lite, feature flags / remote config, and a strong instinct for AI UX and user trust
What’s in it for you?
- Fully remote working
- Salary up to £100k
- Own the iOS experience of an AI-native product
- Design UX patterns for AI, from loading states and streaming to retries and fallbacks
- Work in a small, high-talent-density team with fast, collective decision-making
- Real ownership and influence over product direction
- Work with a modern stack: Swift, SPM, SwiftUI, SQL / NoSQL and TensorFlow Lite
- A mission to bring practical AI to billions of everyday users
