SSC Space also has one of the world’s largest global networks of ground stations for satellite communications. We own and operate the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, northern Sweden, with the aim of launching satellites in the near future.
Are you fueled by a passion for people and the ambition to create an awesome workplace? Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey with us to help Earth benefit from space?
If you answer yes to these questions, we invite you to seize the opportunity to make a significant impact as a Software & Systems Engineer in our team. We are looking for a curious and solution oriented person who shares our core values of Customer passion, Care, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Courage.
As a Software & Systems Engineer within SSC Space’s Orbital Launch and Rocket Test (OLRT) division, you will work across software, IT infrastructure, networks and operational technology. You will develop and integrate solutions used in launch facilities, test infrastructure, automation platforms and mission-critical operational systems.
This is not a traditional software development role. You will work close to both the technology and the operations, collaborating with engineers, IT specialists, suppliers and operational teams. Depending on your experience, the role may also include responsibility for software architecture and technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate and maintain software-based systems supporting rocket testing, launch facilities and operational activities.
- Develop and improve system architectures, interfaces, data flows and integration solutions across software, networks, IT infrastructure and operational technology.
- Support automation, monitoring, control, data acquisition, telemetry and other operational support systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Lead or contribute to system design, technical investigations, verification, commissioning, troubleshooting and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure that solutions are reliable, secure and maintainable by contributing to cybersecurity, system hardening, logging, monitoring and incident-response activities.
- Collaborate with system and infrastructure engineers, operations personnel, enterprise IT, suppliers and customers, while maintaining clear technical documentation and operational procedures.
