About the role
Social Multiway Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Java Backend Developer specialising in Spring Boot, Microservices and Gamification to join our growing technology team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust backend systems that power our innovative digital solutions. You will work on scalable microservices architecture, contribute to gamification features that enhance user engagement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Key responsibilities
Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot framework
Build and maintain microservices architecture to ensure system modularity, scalability and resilience
Develop gamification features and mechanics that enhance user engagement and retention
Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code adhering to established coding standards
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing backend systems for performance and reliability
Work with databases and implement efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms
Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend application functionality
Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
What we're looking for
