Java Backend Engineer - Spring Boot/Hibernate

Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and modern AI technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing scalable backend applications, developing event-driven microservices, integrating AI/LLM capabilities, and building high-performance distributed systems.

The role involves developing robust backend services, implementing messaging-based architectures, optimizing database performance, and integrating Generative AI solutions into enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise-grade applications.

• Build event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

• Integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into backend applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Develop AI-powered features such as intelligent search, summarization, chatbot integrations, recommendation systems, and workflow automation.

• Work with OpenAI or similar LLM APIs to build AI-enabled applications.

• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows where applicable.

• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders.

• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.

• Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release activities.

Required Skills :

• 3 to 8 years of experience in Java backend development.

• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17.

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.

• Strong experience with Apache Kafka for event streaming and messaging.

• Experience with PostgreSQL database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Expertise in developing REST APIs and Microservices.
