Junior Fullstack Java Developer

Overview

In this role, you will help build and maintain Citi’s reconciliation platform at scale, applying Java, Angular, NoSQL, and Oracle to deliver reliable financial tooling. You’ll work with a hands-on tech team focused on ownership and continuous improvement, shaping features from design to deployment. You’ll engage with users and cross-functional teams to implement practical solutions while addressing security and risk considerations. This hybrid role offers exposure to global financial systems and learning opportunities within a mission-critical tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full stack features for a reconciliation platform using Java, Angular, NoSQL, and Oracle
• Analyze existing code and scripts to identify enhancements
• Collaborate with users, clients, and tech teams to propose and apply solutions
• Translate design specifications into working software using core programming principles
• Identify vulnerabilities, test fixes, and debug security gaps
• Mentor junior developers and analysts on best practices
• Evaluate technical issues and choose appropriate solutions based on engineering experience
• Assess technical risk and escalate control issues to safeguard Citi and its clients

Key requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant software development experience, ideally in financial services
• Hands-on development with Java and Angular in a full stack context
• Working knowledge of NoSQL and Oracle databases
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in technical settings
• Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities under pressure
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
